just dark and light colored clothes. thanks for any suggestions ;)

ps: I do have a collor indicator, but for some reason when i try to charge it, it stops working (happened for the 3rd time) so kind of fed up destroying them .. heh

You could try sewing an object onto the back of your shirt, such as a small sequin or button. You could get two different shapes to indicate light from dark. There's no "right" way to mark stuff, just what you're comfortable with. Also, they make teeny safetypins, maybe something like that would work. Maybe oters have different suggestions. I know there is a thread on this topic, but it's from a long time ago.

mall buttons work quite well. I used to use different shaped buttons for the different colors before I got my color detector.

I use safety pins. You can get the smallest ones they have so it's not so obvious when it's pinned to your clothing. If you have tags on the back, I suggest pinning them to that. I pin my socks together, although I would use bigger safety pins for that, because the smaller ones tend to get stuck, and ripping huge holes in your socks is never fun. Lol.

sounds good :) yeah if only my collour indicator would work normally, that would be great!

Just stay away from sharp stuff :)
The buttons are good...be creative!

For socks you can also get little disks so you can put the pair in the disk and keep them together.

O wow. I've never heard of that one.

how much is a color indicator and Where do you get one, or where did you get yours. I know a few places to get one. And what all does yours do exactly and how well does it work?

The disks are called something like Sokloks and you can get them from RNIB and in some places on the highstreet.

As for marking clothes, simplest thing to do is cut a notch in the labels of either the darks or the lights. Then you'll know and you don't have to sew anything on.

I got my old color detector from Cobolt Systems, but that was one rubbish. So the new one I got from Computer room Services and it's made by Colorino. Well that's the name of it anyway.

I also got a Colorino; I got mine from American Printing House for the Blind, and it was and still is for over $100 but less then $200. The Braille Superstore also sells it for $100something. I like it because it also has a light detector, so I use it quite a bit. *smile*

As for marking clothes, I personally don't usually have to use anything, but I had thought of using safety pins with different shapes or numbers of beads on them. Not sure if that would actually work though when you wash and dry your clothes though.

independent living has rust proof safety pins. They say it's good for washing.
